Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human services or closely related field; experience and/or training in human services field. Essential Functions: Responsible for implementation of all applicable Head Start Performance Standards.
Work with families to promote a smooth transition of children into and out of the Rapid City Prenatal to 5 Head Start program. Establish and maintain a positive and trusting relationship with children and their families.
Support parents to become involved in the programs curriculum approach to child development, education, school readiness and family partnership agreements. Maintain accurate records for each child, data entry and completion of appropriate documents and referrals as needed in a timely manner. Respect and work with
individuals from diverse and low-income backgrounds, serve as advocate and promote unique identity of each child/family and refrain from stereotyping on the basis of gender/race/ethnicity/culture/religion/disability.
Follow-up with each family to determine whether the kind, quality, and timeliness of the services received through referrals met the families’ expectations and circumstances. Provide crisis intervention to families in the areas of food, shelter, clothing, transportation, health, and mental health services. Encourage and empower
parents to recognize themselves as the primary educator of their children by promoting parent involvement in all component areas. Advocate for parents and act as liaison between family and agency. Responsible for
registration, recruitment and enrollment. Follow yearly updated recruitment plan. Responsible for maintaining a family caseload. Ensure parents receive community resource information through home visitation, training and
written materials and assist families with accessing services. Assist with parent events along with parent education opportunities and maintain a record keeping system for parent involvement activities. Assist in securing the required 20% non-federal match as required by the Department of Health & Human Services.
Assist in completion of the Program Information Report (PIR), work plans and self-assessment.

Additional Functions: Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings as requested by supervisor. Ensure documentation, referrals, staffings and family and child reviews are completed and followed-up on. Identify and support families who have needs in literacy and/or educational attainment. Encourage parents to attend Parent Association meetings and other center activities. Maintain a clean, safe, healthy, and organized environment for staff and families. Maintain confidentiality as it relates to information about children, families and other staff members. Promote and support all programs and services of YFS. Act in accordance with YFS’ purpose, philosophy, values, goals, policies and procedures. Must learn and execute emergency preparedness plan and be responsive to emergencies that may arise. Assume Coordinator responsibilities in their absence if assigned. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Environmental Functions: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. May be exposed to variety of potentially hazardous living and health conditions of enrolled families.

Certified Medication Aide Full-Time Days

Essential Functions: Comply with and implement all applicable local, state and federal regulations. Maintain a working relationship with other classroom and/or support staff. Assist teacher in all aspects of the classroom operation including carrying out lesson plans, field trips and daily activities. Create, support and maintain a healthy, safe, learning environment conducive to each child’s intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and aesthetic development. Actively teach, model and engage children in play and learning in classroom. Establish and maintain a positive and trusting relationship with children and their families. Maintain accurate records for each child, data entry and completion of appropriate documents and referrals as needed in a timely manner.

Actively supervise and engage children at all times to ensure child safety. Follow YFS’ Discipline Policy and Behavior Management Guidelines. Maintain confidentiality as it relates to information about children, families and other staff members. Assist in all assigned grant activities including, but not limited to, in-kind and United Way. Direct other teacher assistants, substitutes, and volunteers to carry out daily operations. Assist with home visits or conferences and staffings throughout the year when appropriate. Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings as requested by supervisor. Work with children and their families to support development toward school readiness.
Additional Functions: Must learn and execute emergency preparedness plan and be responsive to emergencies that may arise. Assist in recruitment of children, families, and volunteers for program services. Follow all requirements mandated by Department of Social Services, Fire Marshall, Department of Transportation, and Health Department.

Follow all requirements mandated by Head Start/Early Head Start if applicable. Support all program activities and services of YFS, including Kids Fair, Parent Association and Policy Council, evening child care and other event nights. Full Time Overnight Staff Nurse (RN)

As a Staff Nurse, you will be providing loving care for the daily needs of elderly residents in a long term care setting. Starting wages range from $24.00 to $26.50, depending on experience. The shifts are three nights working 6 pm – 6:30 am. In addition to base pay, a shift differential of $2.50 per hour is paid for all hours worked between 10 pm and 6:30 am plus $.50 per hour on the weekend. Monthly training (online and In-service) is mandatory. To qualify, you must have a current RN license in South Dakota.
