Military & Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program:
Full Time Rotational Positions
Magellan Health is seeking licensed clinicians to work as Adult, Child and Youth Behavioral and
School Counselors with the Military & Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program at various military
installations across the United States and overseas. Candidates must be licensed to work at the
independent practice level in the state(s) they wish to work in. *Military spouses are eligible to
work in any state under their current license for up to 1 year (not all states allow this)
Job Summary:
Primary responsibility of providing the full breadth of MFLC counseling services to military
service members and their families at military installations. These services include non-medical,
short term, walk around counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, provision of
health fairs, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues. The
counselors work closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POCs) to
assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation.
Requirements:
 Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work or related field
 Licensure: Must be licensed to work at the independent practice level
 Experience: 1 year minimum post-Master’s
 Ability to prove US Citizenship
 Advanced knowledge of brief therapy, solution-focused counseling methods, and
providing consultation
 Excellent organizational skills, comfort with public speaking and presentations, ability to
manage and structure time and activities independently, and flexibility in responding to
high-profile requests and emergent situations
 Prior military service or a military family member, strong familiarity with military culture,
and/or prior services as an MFLC or CYB/CYBS counselor are preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track daily flight/ground/academic training requirements and accomplishments to facilitate accurate flight scheduling as directed by the DO.
  • To the maximum extent possible, schedule aircrews based on experience to mitigate Operational Risk Management (ORM).
  • Report updates to Squadron and Wing leadership.
  • Facilitate last-minute schedule changes to ensure full coverage by working with the current mission
  • commander/operations supervisor (or equivalent) and flight responsible for the shift that is not fully manned.
  • Obtain aircraft and equipment availability data from maintenance (MX) and schedule crewmembers for
  • training, exercises, simulators, and operations, as required.
  • Publish/post scheduling data for unit long/short-range ground/academic, flying, and simulator training event schedules on PEX, or other computer database systems.
  • Comply with Operations Group (OG) and scheduling chiefs’ locally-developed guidance when building the schedule.
  • Determine flight, ground, and simulator schedule requirements for upgrade, initial qualification, requalification, transition, currency, and continuation training based on syllabus requirements, student progression, weather, and daily equipment/training range availability.
  • Perform daily updates of scheduling data to compensate for changing conditions and training completion rates.
  • Coordinate with Operations Support Squadron (OSS) Plans department, outside agencies/exercise participants, and higher headquarters (i.e. RED FLAG, GREEN FLAG, Weapons School support) for reporting and to facilitate exercise and special event schedule coordination.
  • Provide inputs to OSS Scheduling and update daily Supervisor of Flying (SOF) and Top 3 schedules.
  • Correlate sortie length and airspace requirements with syllabus requirements.

    • Weekly Special Use Airspace Scheduling meeting for schedule coordination and deconfliction.
    • Weekly Planning/Coordinating Airspace Restrictions meeting for schedule coordination and deconfliction;

·        Provide daily tracking of upgrade and continuation training accomplishment for the unit Operations Supervisor (or equivalent); as well as, weekly summaries for the Operations Officer.

·        Assist in the development of new curriculum and syllabi for aircrew and ground training.

·        Generate the following reports/forms as required:

·        AF Form 4324, Aircraft Assignment/Aircrew Qualification Worksheet;

·        Training Aids;

·        Monthly Aircrew Qualification Level Summary (also known as the “Letter of Xs”) and provide a copy of inwork and final documents to Wing Current Operations (OSS/OSO) and Wing Stand/Eval (OGV) NLT the last day of each month;

·        Monthly and quarterly Ready Aircrew Program (RAP) reports and RAP inputs to Wing OSS Training each quarter;
