POSITION SUMMARY The Facility Manager supervises facility maintenance at the Dahl Arts Center.  The Facility Manager works under the supervision of the Executive Director and in collaboration with Rapid City Arts Council board and staff. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES To manage the physical plant of the Dahl Arts Center, including direct responsibility for the following areas: • Assist with development and management of annual work plan for facility management and operations in conjunction with Executive Director • Facility personnel management, including review of timesheets,  employee evaluation • Administration and management of facility IT systems, including the IP network, HVAC, telephone, security and access control • Assist staff with department budgeting and  City Facility budget research, preparation, presentation, management and reporting • Regular communication and reporting regarding facility initiatives and progress with executive director QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent life experience • Understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems • Understanding of janitorial standards and pro-active maintenance practices • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic budgets preferred • Ability to work with people of various backgrounds, income levels and abilities • Demonstrated success in managing projects and working successfully with staff, volunteers and patrons. • Good communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with the Executive Director, staff and board members in a positive and cooperative manner. Please note: the job may require some physical exertion including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing on ladders, etc.
