PAY RANGE:     $20 – $28 per hour (DOQ)

CLOSING DATE:     This position will close on April 5, 2016.

LOCATION:   Rapid City, SD


Provide clerical, administrative and secretarial support for Group Vice President, Electric Operations and Group Vice President, Natural Gas Utilities.


  • Perform a variety of advanced, routine and non-routine administrative duties requiring broad experience and extensive knowledge of the organization and its policies and practices.
  • Prepare, process, and code expense reports, department invoices and accounts payable.
  • Handle confidential and proprietary information with discretion.
  • Retrieve, compile, and summarize data for various reports and special initiatives.
  • Collect and prepare information to be used in discussions and meetings with leadership, employees and outside individuals.
  • Coordinate, update and maintain project and administrative filing systems.
  • Distribute information to key stakeholder audiences at the direction of leadership team members.
  • Establish and maintain solid professional relations with other departments.
  • Participate in special projects and committees.
  • Coordinate and make travel arrangements (including transportation and lodging), meeting arrangements, and other activities.


  • Responsible for filing, handling of mail, phone calls, email and scheduling of appointments.
  • Maintain itineraries, appointments, meetings, and commitments.
  • Perform and manage special projects that may be assigned.
  • Participate in special projects and committees.


  • Maintain positive working relationships with all Company employees.


  • Five or more years of experience in an administrative assistant or office management role supporting department leaders required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with confidential information.
  • Experience managing projects and events.
  • Electric industry experience preferred.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education in business, secretarial, accounting or equivalent area is preferred.


  • Knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment.


  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Ability to handle confidential information is critical.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to take initiative, work with minimum supervision, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
