South Dakota School of Mines & Technology- Tenure Track Positions in Computer Science (Rapid City, SD)

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for one or possibly more tenure-track positions in Computer Science with the anticipated start date of fall semester 2016. A doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related field and a commitment to teaching is required.  Preference will be given to individuals with an established record of excellence in teaching and research and an interest in mobile computing, security, data analysis, or robotics.  The successful applicant is expected to teach a wide range of undergraduate and graduate computer science courses, advise students, supervise student projects, and participate in scholarly activity.  The typical teaching load is two courses per semester.  Teaching is a primary portion of this position, but maintaining an active research program is also expected.

The department offers an ABET-accredited B.S. degree in Computer Science and a B.S. degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics. The department also offers an M.S. degree in Computational Sciences and Robotics. Department research interests include robotics, computer vision, mobile computing, high performance computing, pattern recognition, and security. Faculty members are actively involved in a variety of interdisciplinary research projects across the campus. The department anticipates filling multiple faculty positions for the next academic year.
