Georgia-Pacific- Maintenance Area Leader (Superintendent) (Brunswick, GA)

Georgia-Pacific has an exciting opportunity for a talented Maintenance Area Leader (Superintendent) to enhance the operations at our Brunswick, Georgia facility.
The Brunswick mill, which has been in operation since 1937, has the capability to produce over 800,000 tons of cellulose each year. Additionally, it is the largest single-site fluff production facility in the world.  Brunswick is less than an hour commute to Savannah, GA or Jacksonville, FL.  You can find yourself on a white sandy beach in less than 20 minutes!
The Maintenance Area Leader is responsible for providing leadership for maintenance in the Machines Department with emphasis on safety, team development and work execution that adheres to precision maintenance requirements.
  • Assist with development and implementation of strategies that drive continuous improvement and support all elements of reliability
  • Facilitates knowledge and skill development of direct reports, which include supervisors, planners and hourly (union) technicians
  • Provides leadership and direction to direct reports to ensure the Mill is meeting the objectives in EHS, quality, reliability, production, and costs
  • Leads in the application of Market Based Management (MBM®), preventative maintenance programs, and supports predicative maintenance efforts
  • Works as a team member with Operations to assess and maximize improvement opportunities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience with industrial plant maintenance crew management or military equivalent
  • Experience with maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment both mechanically and electrically
  • Knowledge of precision maintenance requirements
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs, high voltage, & drives
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry
  • Industrial electrical experience
  • Passport CMMS experience
  • Experience implementing precision maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability 
  • Experience with repairing/troubleshooting pumps, gearboxes, paper machine rolls, mechanical drive systems (conveyors, line shafts, drag chains), steam turbines, PLCs, high voltage (480V), & AC/DC drives
  • Experience in welding techniques and piping repairs
