Description: Production Supervisor

As a manufacturing Supervisor you will be responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 25-30 employees and will be expected to lead improvements in safety, productivity, reliability and quality. The expectation is to lead in a way that supports/enhances our Market Based Management (MBM)™ Guiding Principles, fosters teamwork, and produces results.  Responsibilities will also include but are not limited to : planning, assigning, and directing work, training, evaluating employee performance, recognizing and addressing both positive and negative individuals and team performance.  The candidate will lead a12 hour rotating shift based manufacturing operations team using efficient and safe manufacturing processes in the production of spandex yarn.  In order to generate the greatest contribution to our company you must be results driven, able to work under pressure and have excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.  Above all you must ensure that all your activities are carried out with integrity and with the highest regard for safety.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Able to create a working environment that provides all team members with the greatest possible chance for success while advancing the site vision.  Strive to build an MBM™ culture and ensure that direct reports are doing the same.
Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching , counseling, assign tasks and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.  Provide regular performance feedback to employees and conduct annual performance reviews.
Maintain work flow by monitoring personnel and resources including work assignments, vacations, and overtime; implement cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems. Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between areas.
Ensure productivity standards and goals are met by assigning personnel, establish priorities; monitor progress; resolve problems; report results.
Maintain quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards.  Operate within standard operating procedures, ISO standards, and with Job Safety Analysis.
Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment and resources; maintain compliance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain work relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions and recommending action.  Manage employee daily activities to insure production efficiencies.
Maintain Quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Operate within standard operating procedures, ISO standards and Job Safety analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent
2 + years of supervisory or lead operator experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial or military environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word™ and Excel™
Able and Willing to work a 12 hour rotating shift schedule including  nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management or related field
